Candidate Statement:
Craig Horn is a conservative Republican with a demonstrated
history of hard work and a political philosophy of openness,
responsiveness and accountability.
Craig Horn wants to see North Carolina once again setting the
standard for education in this country.
State tax laws should allow parents the freedom to choose
home school, private, public or charter schools for their children
without being penalized.
As chairman of the Churchill Society of North Carolina, Craig has
first-hand experience in developing programs that bring private
enterprise together with public education to reduce costs and
enhance the learning experience for all students in North Carolina.
The tax burden on the residents of North Carolina is causing us to
lose our best natural resources, our people, employers and small
businesses. Our families
must be able to do more than survive financially; they must be
allowed to prosper.
Craig refuses to believe that it is too late to save our family
farms and our small businesses.
Craig wants North Carolina to be the leader in energy
research and energy generation.
“All In” is how Craig characterizes his position on energy
generation – nuclear, coal, natural gas, wind and oil - we have the
resources and the people to lead this country back to energy
independence.
Roads and transportation issues are not new to Craig Horn.
Craig has worked with his local town of Weddington to bring
attention to dangerous traffic issues and compiled a compelling
presentation to alleviate a dangerous situation at an intersection
with a terrible history of injury and property damage.
Craig knows that we must improve our roadways to enhance our
opportunities for growth and jobs.
Union county must have improved transportation options.
Craig is an experienced decision-maker and has clearly demonstrated
the ability to bring people together to solve difficulty issues.
Craig will bring common sense ideas straight from the people
to the North Carolina House of Representatives.
